There is a super-strong link between my creativity and the natural world. Being in nature allows me to step away from worries and immerse myself in a peaceful environment. Wild lilacs, with their intoxicating fragrance and vibrant colors, remind us that beauty exists even amid chaos. In my latest written piece Wild Lilacs published by The Mulberry Collective, I offer something real, and a bit scary I've never attempted before. I sincerely hope it connects with you. Many thanks as well to my beautiful mermaids and my husband for giving me room to create and the strength to put down roots. To love and to be.
When faced with feelings of self-doubt, spending time among these blooming bushes can be refreshing. Research shows that spending just 20 minutes in nature can decrease stress levels by up to 30%. The aromatic scent of lilacs can awaken dormant creativity, giving writers the calm needed to dissolve anxieties and spark new ideas. These beauties are also considered in many Greek texts as bearers of transformation and spiritual change.
Wild lilacs thrive even in challenging conditions, showcasing resilience and beauty. Just as these flowers bloom after the cold winter, writers and brave people trying their best to move past things that hold them back can find a way to express their ideas––despite feeling frozen by fear. For example, contemplate the life cycle of lilacs, with their lush blooms bursting forth after dormancy, and draw parallels to your own writing journey. Welcome your growth process, even if it feels slow or frozen at times. (I feel you!) We had an extraordinary amount of them where I grew up and I used to cut gigantic vases of them and put them all over the house. Amazing!

The journey from silence to vibrant blooms mirrors a writer's path from blank pages to filled books. Writers and artists alike can draw inspiration from nature's patterns and colors, using them as metaphors in their work. Wild lilacs, with their unique clusters, evoke emotions that can inspire new stories or enigmatic themes.
Nature can ignite inspiration and spark ideas for new projects. For instance, a walk in a lilac-filled garden can encourage a person to explore themes of renewal or resilience. Observing the simplicity and beauty of your surroundings can serve as a reminder of what is important, encouraging you to incorporate those elements into your storytelling or your perspective.
Additionally, nature not only nourishes creativity but also replenishes energy. A refreshed mind is vital for overcoming writing challenges and leads to longer, more productive writing sessions. According to studies, writers who take breaks to connect with nature can increase their productivity by up to 50%.
Letting Nature Guide You
Nature, especially wild lilacs, acts as a companion for humans navigating their challenges. By embracing the lessons these flowers provide, you can cultivate resilience, draw inspiration, and enrich your wolrd.
When you encounter obstacles, remember to step outside, take a deep breath of fresh air, and reconnect with the beauty around you. Just like wild lilacs, may your journey bloom with unique experiences and observations waiting to unfold.

So as you traverse your own intertwined path, let nature guide you and remind you that every challenge can also be an opportunity for growth. Your writing and purpose, much like the enchanting wild lilac, can thrive, producing narratives that only you can share.
Thanks again to The Mulberry Collective for choosing my narrative, personal essay for the Spring edition. I am over the moon and honored by your enthusiasm. Much appreciation to my subscribers for reading and for walking with me. Take care out there!
