A few days ago a friend and accomplished poet challenged me to write a poem. I've never considered myself capable of writing what I consider pared down, lighting-fast words.
So, I did. I actually wrote two and submitted each one to a different literary magazine this past Saturday morning.
I received a fast no this morning from one of the editors. It was tough to start my Monday that way.
Then about five seconds later… I also got a yes. Talk about a one-eighty!
I’m thrilled to announce that my poem “Little Universe” will be part of an outdoor art and poetry installation in Waterford, Michigan, May 1st-15th, 2019.
Original poetry will be placed in the trees on the Township Campus, 5200 Civic Center Dr., Waterford, MI; displays indoors will be located in the Library, the Township Hall atrium, and various locations throughout the township. If you get down that way, I would truly appreciate a photo or a note via my contact page on my site if you enjoy it.
Little Universe will also be published in a poetry anthology, and available for purchase from Waterford Township later on this year. The profits will support The Arts and the local library.
One of my primary goals for 2019 was to obtain traditional publication and somehow here I am. Pinch me!
